The University of Wisconsin volleyball team honored three seniors on Friday night, then swept Iowa 25-19, 25-16, 25-17 before 2,943 spectators at the UW Field House.
Seniors Alexis Mitchell and Bailey Reshel each had 10 kills ? three behind sophomore Ellen Chapman's match-high 13 ? as the Badgers snapped a five-match Big Ten Conference losing streak.
UW's other senior, Mary Ording, had eight kills.
"I'm happy that we had a good match on Senior Night," coach Pete Waite said.
"The seniors did well and everyone else played hard for them."
The triumph assured the Badgers (17-13, 5-12 Big Ten) of a winning record for the season, and the 17 wins are their most since 2008.
Iowa fell to 10-20 and 2-15.
Wrestling
Old Dominion dominated the lighter weights en route to a 19-12 win over the 25th-ranked Badgers in Norfolk, Va.
The Badgers won four matches, including the final two after the match had been decided.
Tyler Graff's decision at 141 pounds was the lone UW triumph in the first five matches as the Monarchs built a 13-3 lead.
Frank Cousins won by decision at 165 to pull UW within 13-6. But Old Dominion (1-1) won the next two matches, including Austin Coburn's 4-3 decision against Dylan Iczkowski at 184 pounds, to clinch the victory.
Jackson Hein (197 pounds) and Conner Medbery (285) added the other wins for the Badgers (1-1), each by decision.
