- Position Description: Duties and Responsibilities
A. Provide job development services, including identification of career interests, resume building, development of interviewing skills, and basic job search techniques.
B. Develop Individual Service Plans focusing on specific career goals.
C. Develop linkages to career opportunities through direct/indirect contact with employers.
D. Conduct job-seeking skills training workshops.
E. Educate employer community on various disabilities, making recommendations for job accommodations when appropriate.
F. Provide job coaching support services after placement.
G. Assist with outreach and marketing efforts to referral sources, maintaining an ongoing professional working relationship.
H. Timely completion of monthly case notes and progress reports to referral sources.
I. Advocate on behalf of clients and develop partnerships with the community, including employers and referral sources;
J. Other duties as assigned.II. Safety
A. Attend training and yearly review on the OSHA Blood borne Pathogens Standard and Beacon?s Exposure Control Policy. Understand and follow the Standard and Exposure Control Program
B. Report any potentially dangerous situations to supervisor and Human Resources. Take steps necessary to protect clients and staff until the situation is corrected.
C. Reinforce safe practices to clients and other staff.
D. Attend Safety training(s) as required
E. In the event of an industrial accident or illness, in conjunction with supervisor, complete an accident investigation and report to Human Resources.ESSENTIAL ABILITIES
? Ability to operate a motor vehicle;
? Ability to communicate and follow directions effectively both verbally and in writing;
? Ability to work effectively in a team-orientated environment, as well as independently;Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor?s Degree and at least one year of full-time professional and/or volunteer experience in a social work setting or working with persons with disabilities; OR Associate?s Degree and two years full-time professional and/or volunteer experience in a social work setting or working with persons with disabilities; OR High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and 18 credit hours of post-high school education in a field related to social work and two years of full-time professional and/or volunteer experience in a social work setting or working with persons with disabilities; OR High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and four years of full-time professional and/or volunteer experience in a social work setting or working with persons with disabilities.Minimum Qualifications Supplement:
? OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities has been achieved.Additional Skills/Requirements: ? Proficient with Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Word Excel, and Outlook.
? Strong organizational skills
? Experience working in vocational/career counseling services or rehabilitation setting preferred.
? Must be a self-starter, highly organized, and able to work well with individuals at all levels
? Strong written and verbal communication skills
? Positive, ?can-do? attitude
